What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

First, liposuction removes excess fat from problem areas with small tubes, or cannulas, connected to a vacuum aspiration device. The best results are obtained when liposuction targets specific areas in a person with enough excess fat to transfer to the buttocks. Liposuction reduces the net number of fat cells in the long term, making it more difficult to gain weight in the area treated as an added benefit.

The overall effect is an improvement in your body’s contours. You will look as though you have lost a significant amount of weight at the waist, love handles, or thighs, depending on the areas from which the fat cells are harvested. Liposuction and fat transfer are performed via small access points that are carefully placed, so the resulting scars are imperceptible.

How is a Brazilian Butt Lift Performed?

After liposuction is utilized to harvest your fat, this fat is processed, purified, and then transferred to your buttock region, improving contour and firmness. It should be noted that the body will naturally reabsorb up to about 30-50% of the transferred fat cells. Due to this, your figure will continue to reset for several weeks. By the eighth week, once the swelling has resolved, you will see the full effect of the liposuction and enhanced lift and volume of your buttocks.

Am I an Ideal Candidate?

The best candidates for BBL in Long Island are typically in good overall health and have realistic expectations for the results. An important consideration for patients is to avoid suctioning areas with loose skin since this can be affected by the procedure. Patients should also have sufficient body fat in other areas, such as the thighs or abdomen, to provide sufficient donor tissue. A consultation with our plastic surgeon can help patients learn more about whether this procedure is right for them.

What are the Benefits of a Butt Lift?

A Brazilian butt lift can:

  • Enhance the appearance of the buttocks.
  • Create a more youthful and shapely appearance
  • Improve the overall aesthetics of the buttocks

For individuals who are unhappy with the appearance of their buttocks, a Brazilian butt lift can provide significant benefits.

Your Pre-Operative Consultation

At the time of your initial office visit, we will perform a careful physical examination to identify all problem areas that can be treated effectively with the lipo-sculpture technique to ensure your butt lift goes smoothly. Any questions you may have will be answered at that time.

Recovery After Your Brazilian Butt Lift

After the procedure, you should expect a significant amount of swelling, and we recommend that you wear a support garment for six to eight weeks after surgery. It is important to avoid any pressure on the buttocks for two to three weeks after the surgery.

There will be a significant amount of bruising in all treated areas, but this is to be expected. Most patients would also elect to undergo post-surgical body massages to improve and work on the donor liposuction areas, which is recommended.
